Drew and Jonathan were named guest editors of the September/October edition, featuring some of their favorite makeovers of all time, plus an exclusive tour of their parents' new home.

After years of contributing expert tips and design projects to the pages of HGTV Magazine, Drew and Jonathan Scott finally got their turn to take the reins.
"We go way back with Drew and Jonathan. The Property Brothers premiered on HGTV the same year the magazine launched, so asking them to guest edit our September/October issue was a no brainer," says Kate Doherty, executive editor, HGTV Magazine. "We grew up together in a way!"
The Brothers in HGTV Magazine
The September/October edition is the magazine's dedicated makeover issue and with more than a decade of reno and real estate experience under their (tool) belts, there is no better design duo to give readers an in-depth look at what it takes to complete a home project. "We’ve been waiting by the phone for HGTV Magazine to put us in charge, and it finally happened," they say. "Technically it’s only for this issue — but as guest editors, we’ve made every page count."
In addition to providing creative direction, the brothers used their expertise to answer the editors' toughest home questions — from the best way to save money during a reno to what lightbulb to use in every room. "While working together, we took the opportunity to toss all our renovating and real estate questions out at the brothers," says Kate. "Their answers were so good, we turned them into a story."
The September/October issue also features an exclusive look at one of Drew and Jonathan's latest projects. "We recently pulled off a major reno for our parents, and while everyone else will have to wait to see it on our new show, Don’t Hate Your House with the Property Brothers, we’re giving [readers] an exclusive sneak peek."
The editors were completely onboard for the idea. "We’ve featured so many Scott family homes, like their Las Vegas home, JD's house and Drew and Linda's big reno," says Kate. "We loved it when the guys suggested we feature their parents’ new place."
