Sal has covered tools and DIY projects since 2006 for sites including Better Homes & Gardens, Wired, This Old House, Fine Homebuilding, and the Wall Street Journal. A former hardwood flooring contractor, he prefers to test tools hands-on whenever possible by replicating the scenario readers might face at their own homes.

Sal graduated from Stony Brook University with a B.A. in English and a minor in Journalism. Following graduation, he attended the Summer Publishing Institute at New York University.
