Behind the Scenes of 'Married to Real Estate' Season 2

Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson reveal how they accomplished filming Season 2 of Married to Real Estate — with kids, a business and all.

January 17, 2023

It’s clear that real estate guru Egypt Sherrod and her Married to Real Estate co-host and husband Mike Jackson are experts at designing, renovating and selling homes — just look at their performance on Rock the Block. However, in the newest season of Married to Real Estate — airing Thursdays at 9|8c — we see even more of their creativity and family dynamic, which Egypt refers to as "beautiful chaos."

Ahead the duo dishes about what it took to film Season 2 (along with their secrets on juggling marriage, kids and a business).

The Couple Makes Time for Romance While Filming

The love is alive on set. Trust us. “The best part of filming the show is being able to work with my beautiful wife,” says Mike.

“We get a date day in every now and again — like date 15 minute intervals in the middle of the work day,” says Egypt. “I get to look at this man all day. We flirt!”

They Get Their Kids Involved — Even When it’s Hard

Wrangling two little kids on a set while maintaining a business is no easy task, but Egypt and Mike make it happen.

“The hardest days are the ones where we are shooting our actual family. You would think those are the easiest because we’re in our house, our shoes are off, we’re up on the sofa, but no,” says Egypt. “It’s literally like managing the chaos of our lives, but it’s still beautiful. It’s beautiful chaos.”

They Understand Each Other’s Strengths

Not only are Egypt’s pro real estate skills and Mike’s ability to build anything complementary, their positive attitudes and understanding of one another's talents make them the ideal duo in life and business, too.

“She’s extremely savvy when it comes to business overall,” says Mike. “She puts her mind to something, and she gets it accomplished.”

“You know what makes Mike a great business partner is he can literally do it all. If I can conceive it, he can achieve it,” says Egypt. “He’s the creative spirit, and I’m the business mind and that’s balance. That’s what works for us.”
