Experience
Kayla has covered home and lifestyle content for more than a decade. She played a key role in launching HGTV’s digital shopping team and established a successful product testing program with a clear content focus. She has edited hundreds of articles about home products and has covered home design trends for over a decade.
Prior to her career in commerce, she managed digital home design projects for HGTV and worked with top interior designers and stylists to bring these projects to life in real homes. During this time, she worked closely with popular retailers like Target, Wayfair, Overstock, Chewy, Sherwin-Williams, and more. She was also editor-in-chief of HGTV’s award-nominated blog, I Heart HGTV, where she covered everything from Pantone’s Color of the Year to simple holiday party DIYs.
Her entire career has been focused on creating and editing successful home content, and she has personally spent thousands of hours testing products in her own home. She particularly loves testing and writing about all things bed-related and cleaning-focused, like comfortable sheets, luxe silk pillowcases, and hard-working vacuums that make everyday chores easier. With three pets and a toddler in her home, she is always trying out products that are approachable, affordable, and, most importantly, durable.
Education
Kayla has a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Electronic Media with an English minor from the University of Tennessee.
