Out of the Gray: The Ayub Project
Interior designer Jennifer Todryk of No Demo Reno adds texture to a cutom hood as part of the renovation of the home of Naz and Umer Ayub. After moving from California, the Ayubs hope that Jenn can transform their new and neutral-gray house into a home that packs more visual punch and personality. "We like the floor plan," said Naz, "we just kind of want to make it feel more like a home now."

The Ayub Project
Jenn works on a cheeseboard center piece in the Ayub's newly renovated kitchen, a staging detail prior to the final reveal. "A lot of times clients hire me to personalize their space," says Jenn, "to make them feel settled and to make them enter their home and be like, 'This is my house.'"

The Ayub Project
Kitchen, Before. The Ayub's renovation budget was $85,000, and Jenn and team had 6 weeks to complete the project. Prior to the renovation, the Ayub's kitchen is spacious but visually bland and lacking in personality. For their update, the homeowners requested that Jenn incorporate modern, fun tiling as well as Moroccan accents.
Kitchen, After. In the renovated kitchen, the dull and dated floor tile is replaced with striking black hex tile, providing sharp contrast within the light and airy new palette. The kitchen's informal dining space features a new table and window seat.
