Adorable meet-cutes aside, these creatives were meant to find each other. From couples who rekindled years after first meeting (Nate and Jeremiah), to those love-at-first-sight lucky few (Erin and Ben), these HGTV stars were aligned from the start. Ahead: How each of our favorite power-couple hosts kicked it all off.

According to TRNTO, Bryan and Sarah met in high school but didn’t start dating until 10 years later. They stayed connected throughout university and their post-graduate programs. Fast-forward to 2001: Bryan and Sarah were copied on the same email by a friend, which spurred them to start talking again. They decided to meet and grab coffee and, as the saying goes, the rest was history. According to Sarah, Bryan “pulled out all the stops” for their romantic first date. He took Sarah to see The Lion King theater production and then to a sushi restaurant. Now, the couple has four kids and works their magic on HGTV's Renovation Island.

Nate and Jeremiah, hosts of The Nate and Jeremiah Home Project, navigated the design world adjacently for three years before getting together. They were acquainted socially, had each other's phone numbers and ran in similar circles, until fate — in the form of their mutual friend, fashion-designer and media-mogul Rachel Zoe — threw them together in 2011. “Rachel [used to] say to us, ‘You guys would be absolutely in love,’” Jeremiah told HGTV. When they saw each other single for the first time at Rachel's birthday party, Nate approached Jeremiah and invited him to go antique shopping around New York City. “Our date was magic. I'd never felt so safe and so exactly where I was meant to be,” said Jeremiah. “We stayed up until four in the morning looking through design and travel books, sharing what we found beautiful, what we found special.” Add Nate, “It was the date that never ended.”

When you know, you know. The first time Mike saw Egypt — his current co-host on Married to Real Estate — while DJ-ing at a nightclub in New York City, he knew he was going to marry her. “The light was literally only on her. From that moment on, I knew she was my wife,” Mike recalled. Egypt wasn't convinced Mike was being genuine, plus she was focusing on work, so the two parted ways. Six months later, they met again by chance at the Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City. The two chatted, but Mike decided not to ask Egypt out because she was with a friend. Finally, a few months after the parade, fate took charge: “I’m flipping a house in Newark, New Jersey," Egypt said. "I call my mentor because I need a contractor to help me with the roof. She calls someone for me, and then Mike and his team pull up. I come outside and I’m annoyed. I'm like, 'What are you doing here? I need a contractor, and they sent me a DJ.' He’s like, 'No, I'm a contractor, too.'" Mike had no idea the job was for Egypt. “[Mike always] says, 'I saw you, and I knew you were my wife,'" Egypt said. "The thing I thought was a line he's been saying for the last 18 years."
