The 'Good Bones' Family Expands as Mina and Stephen Welcome New Baby

The baby countdown is over! Mina Starsiak and husband Stephen Hawk announce the arrival of a brand new baby boy. Greetings, baby Jack!

Spread the word, Good Bones fans and friends. The moment has arrived. Mina and Stephen welcomed baby Jack to the world at 4:15 am (early riser!) Thursday, Aug. 9 — and everybody’s happy, healthy and ready to take on a new life chapter. According to Stephen's Insta post, "Dad and Jack are recovering nicely. Mom's already back to work." Mina followed up with spot-on economy of words: "Aaand we've got a baby."

Let's Review

Ever since we first reported back in February that Mina and Stephen were expecting, we’ve been obsessively tracking Mina’s dispatches on Instagram — chronicling her days and nights with a certain bun in the oven. That includes her recent post documenting her “wild Friday nights [while] almost 9 months preggo.” (“Who am I kidding,” she added. “Being knocked up has zero to do with my tragically early bedtime and lack of social life.”) Then another mom-to-be-selfie just a couple of weeks ago with the accompanying caption: “Just about cooked. Can’t wait to meet this little nugget.”

There were some things we knew. Like the fact that Mina and Stephen had recently broken ground on their new ‘forever home’ which will now serve as command central for their newly growing family. And that they won't be moving far — since their new home is directly next door to their first domicile, and just a stone's throw from Karen's house. And that their new digs include a nursery with walls painted in serene “sea salt” green. We also knew that they purchased a stroller that’s convertible to a two-kid model. (Quoth Mina: “First one’s not out yet, but getting ready for the second.”) And that canine family members Frank the Tank, Sophie the Pig and B the Boss seem to be okay with all these changes in the works.

Coming Attractions

Some things we didn’t know. Like, for one, baby Starsiak-Hawk’s gender. Mom and dad opted to keep that bit of info under wraps until showtime. Or a chosen name. The new family addition had been publicly referred to simply as “Baby Hawk”. Here's a devilishly clever teaser graphic – a la Hollywood movie-poster style – that Mina and Stephen used back in February to make their big announcement of what we could expect come August.

And so we waited. Until today. Now the news is out. Baby Hawk is now officially here, and now officially...Jack.

We’re positively delighted to help share this wonderful news and grateful that we’ve gotten to follow along some truly heartwarming times for Mina, Stephen and family — notably including one truly spectacular wedding.

“I’m not the girl that grew up talking about her wedding and babies since she was a little girl,” Mina said when it was first announced she was expecting. “I definitely took my time, and I’m just so excited that that road has put me where I am: loving my career, having a smokin’ hot husband, who is just the greatest, and choosing to start our family at a time where Steve and I can really be our best and do our best for the first of hopefully a couple little ones.”

We wish you all the best, Mina, Stephen and Jack. We’ve got a feeling that’s just what will happen.
