10 Fun Facts You Might Not Know About Christina Hall
Learn more about Christina Hall — host of HGTV's Christina on the Coast and Christina in the Country.
Commissioned Photographer
Our favorite SoCal cowgirl Christina Hall is longtime HGTV royalty. We've seen her real estate and remodeling skills firsthand on Christina on the Coast and Christina in the Country, and when you watch closely, her most admirable qualities — including her openness and resiliency — really shine.
You might think you know her, but below we reveal 10 fun facts about the real estate guru.
She Loves to Wear All Black
If you scroll through Christina’s Instagram or see her out in real life, chances are she’ll be donning a head-to-toe black outfit. After all, her favorite attire is black-on-black, which she refers to as “Johnny Cash Vibes.”
She Hosts Multiple HGTV Shows
Christina first appeared on HGTV more than a decade ago in the ever-popular series Flip or Flop — the rest, as they say, is history. Now, she is the host of two HGTV shows, Christina in the Country and Christina on the Coast, where she renovates homes with her classic country-chic, SoCal style. Christina has also appeared as a competitor in Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge. Our icon!
She Loves Makeup
Christina knows home design and makeup design. (She has professional-quality beauty skills apparently.) She's even paired up with Pink Dust Cosmetics a number of times to share her favorite looks and go-to products. In the clip below, check out her everyday makeup routine.
She Has Three Kids
Christina is not only a home-design guru but a mama-bear to three wonderful kids. She has a teenage daughter, Taylor, and two boys, Brayden and Hudson. In 2023, Christina posted a heartwarming selfie with her kids to her Instagram saying, "life is crazy but being a mama makes it all worth it." More recently, she posted a photo of Taylor, commenting how quickly she's grown up. "My beautiful girl. It feels like just yesterday she was a sassy toddler who never wanted me to brush her hair, now she’s a full blown Sephora model," Christina wrote. "Time goes by too quickly but each phase of life with her is a blessing."
She's Still Close With Her Childhood Bestie
From middle-school to motherhood, college dorms to wedding aisles, Christina and her childhood bestie, Cassie, have stuck together through it all. They hang out as often as their busy schedules allow and chat on the phone weekly. Cassie recently named Christina godmother to her youngest son, Jameson. And of course, Christina styled a nursery for baby J. In fact, she designed the majority of Cassie's California-cool home, which can be seen in an early season of Christina on the Coast. “I would never trust anyone else with my home,” Cassie says. These two are lifelong best friends.
She Wanted to be a Sports Agent
In a September 2020 Instagram post, she revealed she never dreamed of being on television. She actually wanted to be a sports agent like Jerry Maguire. But as a child she did love looking at homes with her parents, so in a way she’s come full circle.
She Leads a Bicoastal Lifestyle
Born and raised in Southern California, Christina's a Cali girl at heart, but she recently moved across the country to Tennessee. Now she and her family go back and forth between her modern-organic home in Newport Beach, California, and her country-chic property in Nashville (complete with chickens, goats and other animals). She's the host of Christina on the Coast and Christina in the Country for good reason.
She Has a Maya Angelou Tattoo
Christina is the first to admit she’s faced hardship, so it’s only fitting that, in an Instagram post from January 2021, she revealed Maya Angelou’s words, “Still I Rise,” tattooed in sprawling cursive along her spine.
She’s an Author
Along with being an HGTV host, mother, daughter and friend, Christina is also an author. In 2020, she and nutritionist Cara Clark released The Wellness Remodel: A Guide to Rebooting How You Eat, Move, and Feed Your Soul. The book details Christina’s health struggles — including battling an autoimmune disease and struggling with infertility — which, until its release, she had kept largely hidden from the public. Beyond her own story, Christina and Cara share health tips and recipes.
She Prioritizes Herself
Last but not least, Christina is the queen of keeping it real and creating boundaries. With these strengths, she's taken on a new stance of prioritizing herself — not in a selfish way, but a self-sustaining way; a way that supports and celebrates her health and happiness.
