Shopping for eco-friendly homewares often means going to multiple stores, but Amazon Aware now sells all kinds of homewares under one storefront. The new brand features sustainable-focused basics, from organic linens to recycled household paper products to vegan beauty care, and the prices are surprisingly low, especially for organic cotton towels and sheets. We were able to test a few items before the launch and we've highlighted our favorite buys below. Take a look and stock up on these eco-friendly basics.

Household Essentials

Paper products add up — not just on your grocery bill but the environment. The new household essentials line is both eco-friendly and surprisingly budget-friendly. You can score 24 rolls of toilet paper or paper towels for about a buck a roll! Both are made from 100-percent recycled paper, too. Though I have to say the TP is....not soft. It does make me question what kind of chemicals are used to make my favorite TP so soft. However, it is super thick, and I'll probably use the rest of the case for kitchen counter cleanups — yes, it's that thick.

Organic Cotton Towels

The most impressive category under the Amazon Aware umbrella is the line of 100-percent organic cotton bath linens. Like the household items, these products are pretty affordable. You can score a six-pack of bath towels, hand cloths and washcloths for about $6 each. That's really unheard of for organic towels, as some of our favorite towels retail for even more than the cost of this entire set for just one towel. There are two styles: standard and ribbed. They come in a handful of colors such as navy, blush and a soft dove grey. I tested both and the ribbed surprised me. It's super-absorbant, dries fairly quickly and it's a good budget alternative to trendy ribbed towels from Parachute and Brooklinen. I will say both variations aren't that soft. I've tested many bath towels and bath sheets for HGTV over the years and these weren't buttery soft. I don't know that I'd choose these for daily use, but if you want the Parachute look for a guest bathroom and you're on a budget, it's a good dupe.

Organic Cotton Bedding

Like the bath towels, Amazon Aware bedding is all 100-percent organic cotton. The bedding comes in the same colors, from crisp hotel white to a very rich, maritime navy. Sheet sets start at just over $50, which is a steal for organic cotton. Like the bath towels, I tested these and found that they're not super soft. Jersey cotton often feels like a well-worn t-shirt, and percale cotton often feels like an oxford shirt. These sheets, however, felt like polyester that's just been pressed at the cleaners. It's not scratchy, but it's not buttery soft. The texture is perfect as a duvet, though. And you can score a duvet set in the same colors for under $75!

Organic Cotton Sleepwear

The bulk of Amazon Aware includes fashion basics such as loungewear and we noticed that the sleepwear separates (also made from 100-percent organic cotton) are a total steal at under $25 for tops and bottoms.
